About the cap.

The Child, also known as Baby Yoda among fans is now a crazy popular character in the Star Wars universe.  It was only a matter of time before we saw some fan art of the character pop up in almost every hobby known to us.  Keyboards are no exception. In fact, it found a place with us pretty earlier in this hobby, as this is not one of the first keycaps to adopt this cute character but still a welcomed addition. Archetype has their new rendition of the popular character that they dubbed, Space Goblin.

NOTE: As a quick little insert / edit – these caps were a limited time group buy and after reaching out to the makers, have to expected re-run time.

As per the usual, I am going to leave some comments and thoughts about the cap! Keycap quality, stem fit, finish. Let’s go!

Keycap Quality

The cap is pretty good quality! In fact, mine were so good that I had to look through my macro lenses to find blemishes in the paint. And let’s make this clear, you will probably never do nor see under normal circumstances.

These are 3d printed caps and hand painted. And honestly, they are impressive! The level is actually outstanding and I’m sure the talented artists at Archetype put a lot of love and care into the sculpt as well as the paint job. By the way, I am so captivated by the eyes of the Dark Side version of the Space Goblin keycap.

Stem Fit

No complaints, its not loose to the point where it will fall off with a keystroke. It’s actually perfectly snug and works well with all the stems I’ve tried it on.

Finish & Thoughts

This is a bad ass keycap and such a cute addition to any keyboard.  The keycap was sold as an addition to a key chain and is now a permanent addition to my RAMA U80-a. I love it!

How did you take these photos?

Camera equipment used is a Sony A7rii and a 55mm Sony FE Zeiss f/1.8 with some macro tube extensions. I also use continuous LED panels to set up these shots for lighting.
