You all know I love cats. I also really do admire Pokemon and Alice in Wonderland. Well, Systematik fits that bill for me. For transparency, while I did purchase my first cap from him, he did send me out a fair chunk of his collection to photograph and use in in future photos.
To kick this off, these are fantastically detailed and have really great colorways to them. The resin colors are consistent and details like the pupils of the eyes on the Cheshire cat (which is the only hand painted park) is sharp and concise, colors on the cheeks of the Angrychu cap are well done and sharp, which I am very pleased with.
Well, since I tend to touch on quality in the opening paragraph, I want to dive into some notes. Since the pupils of the Cheshire cat are hand painted, they can eventually have some wear to them with extended use, so please be mindful of that. He did tell me he will be looking into some alternatives like a protective coating or doing the pupils with resin opposed to hand painting it.
This is an area where I tend to keep it short and simple. The stem fit is great and I have had no issues with it at all! They had no obvious force needed to seat the keycap and was easy enough to put on and off. A+ here.
The cool thing about Systematik and the way he does his caps is the blend of colors he uses to get his final products. The caps are fun and really strike a chord with me on that nostalgic level of childhood fun. One question I did get a lot was about the fit of the caps, since they appear to be large. Rest assured, they had no collision with other caps when I used them and I even mounted them all side by side and they work just fine!
Camera equipment used is a Sony A7rii and a 55mm Sony FE Zeiss f/1.8 with some macro tube extensions. I also use continuous LED panels to set up these shots for lighting.
